Of course I knew about this for weeks; I just wasn’t allowed to tell you till now. But it still makes me prolapse with joy.

Me, me, me! Self, self, self!

    Hi Chris

Congrats on the news – I’m trying to arrange an interview by e-mail with each of the authors on the short list for SFcrowsnest.com (our critic Paul Skevington is one of the judges of this year’s awards).

If you’re game, drop me a line and I’ll get the questions over to you.

    Ta

    Stephen

    Jeeeeesus Christ! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

    That is awesome, Chris! Congratulations!

28th April, huh… will keep that in mind. I seem to write this a lot lately but “fingers crossed”, aye? πŸ˜‰

  3. Hehehe. I’m clearly the bookie’s long shot of the bunch but I’m kind of hoping for a Teen Wolf moment. Besides, I lost out on the Manchester Book Award and didn’t make the BSFA shortlist, so it’s, like, my turn or something. Right? πŸ˜‰

    @ Stephen – Hi! I’ve mailed you.

  4. Raihor says:

    :O :O :O !!!!

Wooooahhh, that’s kind of a big deal!!

Congratulations! You better win! Ret. Falls is seriously one of the best books I’ve read recently. Actually I’m kinda mad at you because now my standards are so high πŸ˜‰

  5. Tara says:

Well done! You totally deserve it. I send you luck and sparkles. And cake.

  6. David Scott says:

Very excellent news! Currently rereading Retribution Falls right now, and its just as good as the first time I read it, if not better. Granted, I should be revising for Uni right now, but as that research did not include the Ketty Jay, it felt less demanding of my attention…

  7. Lucy says:

Oh I saw about this the other day! My friend has a Retribution Falls facebook page going and I think someone may have posted it on there.

Congrats, that’s brilliant news! πŸ˜€ I hope you win it! I love Ret Falls (and all you’re other books I’ve read!) and it definitely deserves the win!

  8. CJ says:

    Congrats!

Any chance we can get a look see at the new Black Lung Captain cover? =)

  9. I’ll post it up when it’s done. Right now I’ve only seen roughs, which are very pretty indeed, but I believe we’re still waiting for the final art to come back from the artist.

  10. Kath says:

Dunno if anyone already saw it but Adam posted in over at

    It looks so good~
    July, July!

Hope you had a great time at the Eastercon!! πŸ™‚

  11. Laura says:

    Congratulations! Very much deserved.

  12. Kath says:

    Yo there!

Thought you might be interested (unless of course, you have already seen it…).

The German cover and name for RetFalls:

And man, it’s really Heyne who’s publishing it. That is really, really great! Now you and Joe can threaten all other books between A and W! πŸ˜€

Only three more days til we know who gets the ACC-award. Omg~

  13. Tara says:

Tea and sympathy for the award, Chris. You’ll get ’em next time!

  14. Kath says:

    Sorry about the award. :<
(Still, thanks to the shortlist I found RetFalls in my local bookshop!)

Also, got Havoc today. Loved the bit in Philip's house.
Will continue reading tonight – when it's dark outside. It somehow felt wrong to read it with the sun shining and birds singing outside. Β°~Β°

  15. That’s a pretty cover! Ooo! Hope the translation is good.

I’m not that gutted about the ACC Award, to be honest. It was great just to be on the list; I genuinely didn’t expect to win. And the news was somewhat softened by the fact that I was sitting on a balcony in the south of France overlooking a beautiful bay and sipping Prosecco when I received it. Could have been worse πŸ˜‰

  16. Kath says:

I shall let you know how the translation is. πŸ™‚

Heh, glad to hear it. πŸ™‚
Southern France instead of rainy London… Yeah, I can see why that could have been worse. πŸ˜‰

Now, I hope that the forum will be a bit more lively again. It has been quiet for quite a while but with Havoc’s release people should start posting again. Β°~Β°

  17. Summer says:

    großartige Arbeit!
(Great Job!) Or…er…Excellent travail!, since you’re in France?

  18. Daniella says:

Hi Chris – I am really happy for you. I live in Canada and I love Mailce – just finished it a few weeks ago. I was really excited for the release of Havoc and I went to the bookstore today and it didn’t even come up in their system. Can you tell me the release date of Havoc for Canada? Thanks, Daniella.
