Duuuude! Does this mean you finished making all those edits you were getting bogged down with when you first started the Broken Sky ebook endeavor?

  2. It means I abandoned editing them in the end, threw out the edits I’d done so as not to end up with Act 1 being different to the other two, and released them just as they were eighteen years ago :-/

    Hi Chris!

Glad to see Broken Sky is back and available on ebook. You see, I got myself into a conundrum with the Ketty Jay series. I live in the states, but I have the first three books in the UK hard cover version. I can’t seem to find the fourth book in hard cover with the UK print. Do you know of any way I could get my hands on that version? I’d hate to have to break with tradition at this point, but I’ve already held out for so long! Anyways, I’m glad you check in on this blog from time to time, it’s great to hear from you.

Well. Since I have found no concrete answer thus far, I’d like to just get this out of the way. I have been waiting a good number of years for Pandamonium to get a sequel, but at this point, I have extreme doubts that it’s ever going to happen. I kinda just want confirmation so I can stop wasting my time checking this site every month.

  5. Jordan – There should be plenty of UK hardcovers around. Try Book Depository or AbeBooks if Amazon don’t have any.

Kalen – It’s been answered several times in various places (including this site, I’m pretty sure) but here’s the short version: There’ll be no sequel to Pandemonium. I would love to do one but the publishers don’t want to do it, and it’s the publishers that have to pay the artist who illustrates the work. So unfortunately my hands are tied. Sorry.

Fantastic news (that Iā€™m very late to)!

    Hi Chris!

Thanks a lot for releasing the e-book versions!!! I’d posted a comment on this site somewhere, hoping that you’d do so, so am very happy. Bought all three books from amazon right away! Will put up reviews on amazon and goodreads soon too, so hopefully more people notice.

I was slightly sad to see the character/creature/construct portraits missing from the digital books though. I guess you did it to cull any anime connection, but being an anime fan myself, and having already fixed the initial images of the characters, creatures and constructs in my mind a long time ago, it suddenly felt odd to me to see them missing.

Is there anywhere I can get those images? I’d really like to keep them alongside my now digital collection of Broken Sky books. Its just not the same reading the books without pictures of Kia, Ryushi, Gerdi, Hochi, and all the others introducing you to them. I remember back when I read them the first time, I’d thought it so cool and wondered why other authors didn’t do the same. šŸ™‚

  8. The main reason I didn’t use all that amazing Steve Kyte artwork was that I wasn’t allowed to: I didn’t own the rights to use it. Unfortunately that also means I can’t help you with where to get it either. Sorry about that, but thanks for buying the ebooks!

I mean, I still covet my barely-completed paperback collection, but this is so exciting (even finding out belatedly)!

  10. Nicole Ramsey says:

Are the eBooks still available? I read these book many years ago and am trying to share them with my family. I have books 1-7 in print but can’t get 8 and 9 in paperback. Is there a digital version I could get/purchase if need?

    Hi Chris,
I just found out about the e-books yesterday and bought them off amazon today. So excited to read the full series now. only thing missing are the pictures of the characters and the beasts, maps. etc.
    Thank you for this e-book.

Could you please try for the images of the characters etc.

  12. I adored the broken sky series when they were first released. I read them thrice and can still tell the storry from start to finish if i tried.
It’s one of my favourite universities, till this day.

I was rather sad, seeing they don’t seem to be released as audiobooks.

I was very sad that the story stopped where it did, it seemed very unfinished.

Even more so, I wish dearly for more books in the universe. Even if it were from different main characters perspective.

  13. Akira says:

I’m rereading the books now and trying to draw a map, but it seems a bit hard to do. I may actually have it backwards, but I don’t know. I’ve always been bad at details in books as I had to take these “required classes” for English class for comprehension. I want to know how well I’m drawing them.
