The back-jacket summary is up on Amazon now, so I guess it’s out there. Consider yourself blurbed, people!
(NOTE – SPOILERS FOR PREVIOUS BOOKS IN THIS TEXT. DON’T LOOK IF YOU HAVEN’T READ THE FIRST THREE)
Everyone still with me who wants to be? Good.
Just making sure…
All good things come to an end. And this is it: the last stand of the Ketty Jay and her intrepid crew.
They’ve been shot down, set up, double-crossed and ripped off. They’ve stolen priceless treasures, destroyed a ten-thousand-year-old Azryx city and sort-of-accidentally blew up the son of the Archduke. Now they’ve gone and started a civil war. This time, they’re really in trouble.
As Vardia descends into chaos, Captain Frey is doing his best to keep his crew out of it. He’s got his mind on other things, not least the fate of Trinica Dracken. But wars have a way of dragging people in, and sooner or later they’re going to have to pick a side. It’s a choice they’ll be staking their lives on.
Cities fall and daemons rise. Old secrets are uncovered and new threats revealed.
When the smoke clears, who will be left standing?
I’m excited. I’ve reserved 20 copies.

I’m very excited!
So very, very excited!! :’)
Yeah… who will be left standing, indeed. I’ll just keep my fingers crossed, eh.
I’ll be reserving 40!!!
… WHELP.
*sets up cardboard box in the bookstore and waits*
:I
*Sets up tent in front of book store with non perishable food items and CW books to last until Christmas. Also brings rifle in case of cranky book store workers.*
Oh my god, I can’t even handle this. :C Probably going to shed a tear or two upon finishing. It’s always sad when great things reach their ending.
I have the biggest grin on my face right now.
Oh man, I can’t even tell you how much heart sobbing will be done upon completion of The Ace of Skulls. I was distraught for two weeks when I finished The Braided Path. It’s hard moving on with reality when you like the fantasy characters more then the real live ones you have to work with.
For the most part their not nearly as charming as Captain Frey and company.
The last time I was this excited for the final chapter of a series Ewoks were involved.
Day #4:
Moved cardboard construct into romance novel section. Barnes and Noble employees were beginning to suspect an unwelcome tenant near the graphic novels.
I don’t know how to feel!
Also: Happy birthday, you!! :> Eat lots of cake and have a nice day!
Aw, you remembered
*shares cake*
Of course I do!
Yay! Thanks for the cake~ *eats it*
I remembered, too. I totally did. Totally. >_>… <_<

There you go.
i am reading The Black Lung Captain right now and i don’t know how i didn’t realize this in Retribution Falls but Darian Frey reminds me of Dante from the original Devil May Cry series lol
Phew, I have just 11 pages of the Iron Jackal left to read. I have been eeking them out as I am not ready to say goodbye to the Ketty Jay crew yet. This is very good news. Big Thanks!!!
Please release Iron Jackal in the USA in Ebook form. Please. I own the first two and have thoroughly enjoyed them. I am looking forward to reading iron jackal but I’d prefer to read it in ebook form on my tablet. I am considering buying a used copy on amazon but I know you wont recieve any of the proceeds from that. I dont know what the proceeds look like for ebooks for you but I’d feel better paying the $12 for an ebook than I would spending $12 on a new copy because it is not in the format that I want and will have to purchase an e-copy later anyway. If you have the power or ability please look into releasing the next two books on Ebook.
Thanks a happy fan.
Jesse.
PLEASE RELEASE AUDIO BOOKS!!!!
k thnx -brooklyn
@ Jesse and Brooklyn -
Iron Jackal will be out on ebook in the US at some point, but I don’t know exactly when. Titan Books are publishing IJ and Ace Of Skulls in America but I haven’t yet been told release dates.
Audio books, as ever, are nothing to do with me. If those decisions were up to the author, every book would be released in gold plated hardback with ebooks and audiobooks and a movie and a videogame and a theme park and have a planet named after them. That said, a Retribution Falls audiobook is being recorded right now as far as I know, and should be out very soon
Last I heard they were aiming for March, which is now, but I’ll let you know when I do. Are they doing the rest of the series? I don’t know yet.

An RetFalls-audio book!
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Retribution-Falls-Unabridged/dp/B00BJ5TPD8/ref=tmm_aud_title_0
It’s already available from co.uk, at least.
de and com haven’t listed it yet. Hrm… Will keep my eyes open for when they do. :>
Haha. And if that doesn’t demonstrate how much authors are not kept in the loop, I don’t know what does. It’s already out and nobody told me :-/
Awesome of you to reply! Thanks!
Now the wait is on V.V

It is still not up on Amazon USA. Although they have the book listed with a sign up so you can be alerted when it is available. I have been ordering your books from the UK because it seems to take forever (or what we think is forever since we have been so spoiled and expect instant gratification) for the US to get the books.
Hi!

I haven’t read most of your newer books (because they’re not translated into Slovene, therefore not available in our libraries), but I just wanted to let you know I’ve decided to buy the whole Broken Sky series. And I’m really looking forward to reading them again
Oh and I’m definitely buying some of your other books cause I want to see what I’ve been missing…
Now we’re talking!
(clears throat) Yaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy!
WEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
Getting audio book soon!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!
Fantastic stuff Mr Wooding. I await the incoming erudition with near-breathless anticipation.
Though that could be the bronchitis.
Nope, still anticipating! Very much looking forwards to this, devoured the previous three in a two day session! Absolutely love the characters and looking forwards to the denoument!
I just finished “The Iron Jackal,” so I’m all caught up! (And by ‘just finished,’ I mean that in a very immediate sense. Haha!) I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy of “The Ace of Skulls” later this year. It’s unfortunate that it’s a way off (and it may even be a bit longer in my case, since I’m one of your many American readers), but I’ll certainly get it as soon as I can.
Do you think that perhaps there will be any further future for the Ketty Jay series? Not another book, perhaps, but say, if I should dare to dream, maybe a TV mini-series or something along those lines? It’s a shame to know that it has to end. Books like these remind me why I love to get lost in other worlds.
I saw on one of your other blogs here that you said you’ve mulled about the idea of doing some writing for video games — which I think would be great. I used to be a huge gamer, but a lot of the stuff that’s come out in the last few years hasn’t really grabbed me. I find that the story in a video game suffers far too much in favor good graphics. Maybe you could help to change that…
Respectfully yours from Seattle, Washington, USA –
Spencer
Things like TV adaptations etc aren’t up to me, really. Any book anywhere could get snapped up by HBO and turned into the new Game of Thrones if the author is lucky enough. Obviously I would be all for that for the Ketty Jay, but it’s pretty unlikely. So the answer is, could happen, but don’t count on it…
Maybe this would be a good time to ask, Chris, and I am sure it has been asked thoudands of times before…
There are many parallels between the Firefly tv series and the Tales of the Ketty Jay. Did this series inspire any of your work? And also, do you think that the fact that Firefly is already out there would hinder the chances of Frey & co hitting our screens?
Many thanks,
Mike
