Random news:
The movie adaptation of Malice is progressing nicely. The screenwriter is working on the first draft of the script now and will probably deliver around the end of February, and we’ll see where we go from there.
I’ve spent the last couple of months knocking around some secret little projects, and discussing with publishers about my next book; I’ll let you know as and when something solid is in place.
I will definitely be at the SFX weekender, and more than likely showing my mug on a panel or two. It’s all being organised at the mo. Again, I’ll tell you as soon as I know.
I’ve received final copies of Havoc, resplendent in bilious green. Yay! As I posted elsewhere, is doesn’t have the big 3D cover of Malice because it would be prohibitively expensive to do that for both books in the series, but it’s still embossed so you can stroke Tall Jake and you’ll find him pleasingly tactile. Ahem.
The mass market paperback of Retribution Falls will come out in April in the UK (that’s the small, cheap paperback version). As a bonus, in addition to my lovingly crafted section on How To Play Rake, there will be included the Logbook Of The Ketty Jay, which was an informal prequel that I blogged online in the months before the book came out. Or you can just read it here for a taster. And if that’s not enough, there’ll also be the first chapter of The Black Lung Captain included.
Speaking of BLC, it’s been delivered to the publishers and I expect the edits back any second. That one will soon be in the bag, and I love it dearly…
I hope to be able to give to another update with some more definite news on proceedings and upcoming projects soon. Right at the moment it’s all about the behind-the-scenes machinations. Hang in there!

I’ve finished Malice and now I’m reading Havoc. Malice was great and Havoc is too so far. Don’t take offense, but I think Malice is so far is a little better than Havoc so far. I’m only on page 164 so far, but Havoc is pretty good. Like I said, Malice is a little bit better than Havoc(just for me). If you’re on the site right now, could you post a comment to me? Oh, and by the way, I’m 9 but pretty muck 10 ’cause my birthday is on 4;00 today. So yeah, my birthday is today at 4:00. Also, can you tell me if you’re coming out with a 3rd Malice book? My mother, who works at scholastic, brought me home your book and I fell in love with it, I started to read it and could not put it down. I was hooked, The event of malice was Amazing, Being taken away from your world to challenge your wits against Tall Jake’s. I love mind puzzling games and I loved your book. Currently I am looking for Havoc and Am early waiting to read it. I hope people can use their lives in away as to help others, and become more like Seth, as to not look before they leap and just do what feels right. When is Poison goin to be a movie? it iss my favorite books and i cant wait to see it on sreen some time.
I had been searching for the 3D cover for Havoc, but have now read it does not exist. However, if I understood correctly, Tall Jake is embossed on the cover but the one I just bought at Barnes & Noble has only the name embossed and a picture sleeve that goes over it. Is there a hard cover that has the picture on it directly instead of a sleeve and if so, how do I get one? Just wondering.

Malice and Havoc are part of a series, I know, because one follows after the other. But what is the series called? Is it called ‘Malice’ after the first book because it follows the story of the comic? Or is the series name different to the book names? I really need to know =\

Ohkay, so Malice.. i just read it in one night. It was really good. I liked the story line and how it switched to comic randomly (although the comics definatly needed some artistic work). And if you dont mind me saying it reminded me of the old Labryinth movie with Daid Bowie in it and the Pendragon series with a dark twist. You shouldnt be offended these are good comparision in my eyes. Anyway, i can not find Havoc and am hoping to find the bloody thing soon. The ending of this last one i hated, comparision to the end of the Dark Tower series by Stephen King and the amount of hatred i had then, yea that bad. So im hoping you will redeem my trust of this story line by contining to awe me with your horrific endevores. I would also like to know when the movie will be close to showing, Im not in the movie production buisness so you jsut saying they are about to get scripts done has no time table set up in my mind. Please and Thank you for the information i will hopefully recieve and the book that had me up all night last night. Bravo.

I read Malice for the first time this weekend and you are right, could not put it down. I’m 17 and still enjoyed it. Maybe due to my immature nature, who knows? I really did not see it as a kid’s book really. The second I saw the cover it called to me. Well, that aside. I was wondering what information you could possibly give out concerning the malice movie. A script or something. I am a fairlyexperienced actor and constantly am I moved by stories like these. As soon as I closed it, I searched. And low and behold, you ARE making a movie. I would do anything to be in it. I realize I’m coming in a bit late but I only got the book 2 days ago. Please, email me with any inormation you can possibly give out.

Malice was a great book. Hope the movie doesn’t change the story much. I’m probably not going to see the movie sadly. Never see film adaptions of books…
or atleast I don’t.. If the movie is created, hope it will be the best film adaption of any book.

I have read your book Malice and have yet to read Havoc but I am wondering will there be a third book. I am very curious and I have read Malice multiple times. Also when will the movie be released in Canada. Malice is probably one of my favorite books that I have ever read and the comic sequences are outstanding. I enjoy how Seth acts instead of think first and takes the “shoot first, ask questions later” motive. I can definitely connect to the characters in the novel and when Justin and Seth were in the Oubliette I could not stop reading. I read Malice multiple times in one knight and I have enjoyed it a lot.

look, idk bout u guys but i’m scared about the Malice movie, cuz they messed up dragonballz, they messed up the last airbender. i’m just worried they will mess this up too, like leave out Luke or Heather, or the Timekeeper, or anyone else like Colm. i’m just scared thats all.

I first read Malice a few years back and had been waiting for Havoc ever since. It has got to be the best book i’ve ever read, that and Leviathan, which i recommend, anyway, I was just looking around for Havoc and came across this website.
