Hey Karen,

Good to see you too. After all that hard-selling my editor did on Poison, I hope you like it!

Hi Chris, it was GREAT to meet you in London at FP. Thanks for putting up with my particular brand of crazy... I get a little excited meeting authors. Of course, one day I will have to accept that I am sort-of/nearly one myself. ;)

I have my copy of POISON sitting on my overflowing bookshelves and promise to read it soon.

Cheers,
Karen

Yeah, I'm loving Dragon Age Origins. I'm playing on the Xbox, and the slightly overcompressed graphics are pretty evident, but to be honest the game is immersive enough that you barely ever notice. Of course, I'm playing on a standard def telly, so everything is a bit blurry around the edges anyway. I don't exactly relish new codex entires.

One thing I do find strange is readjusting to something which is quite so linear in its construction in this age of open worlds (or illusions of open worlds). It's not a problem, as the game has suckered me right in, but it does feel odd when you hit the edge of the mapped path without any kind of wall to block you but...can't...quite...go...there.

Minor quibble for the riches of story and background in the thing. Feels like the natural successor to all those generations of PC rpgs I've banged through over the years.
